CME SMART Prosperity Now, administered by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and funded by Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev) is about fostering the long term growth for small to medium size businesses. Ontario manufacturers must promote growth by transitioning to a more sustainable business model through enhancing productivity, integrating new and innovative technologies to products and/or processes that include alternative energy and clean technology considerations for future prosperity and global export opportunities.
To be eligible for SMART Prosperity Now funding, applicants must be a small – mid size manufacturer in Southern Ontario with between 15 – 1000 employees corporately and are looking to invest in product and process improvements that will develop and expand your export opportunities and global competitiveness.

Ancaster FREE Workshop - April 24, 2014
In 2008, the Ontario government provided Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) with $25 million dollars to deliver the SMART program to assist manufacturers improve productivity with a focus on lean manufacturing, energy efficiency and information technology. With the success of this program, more than 400 companies were assisted with funding to support their initiative.
In addition to productivity and employment gains, the program has generated a wealth of knowledge, information and best practices to share. CME is now pleased to offer this important workshop to communicate the learning’s from the program and discuss opportunities to build on the program’s success.
Companies will be engaged in an interactive session to discuss productivity and energy efficiency and take advantage of best practices from other manufacturers in your region. Our partner, Grant Thornton will provide tools and techniques to start your own transformative journey toward operational excellence.
