Thanks to funding provided by the Government of Ontario and the Southern Ontario Development Program (FedDev Ontario), Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has created the SMART Program to help small and medium-sized manufacturers in Ontario improve their productivity so they can compete more effectively in the global economy.

Funding for Qualified Productivity Improvement Projects
SMART funded productivity improvement projects such as lean design and lean manufacturing, quality improvement, energy efficiency, IT best practices, and environmental impact reduction. We supported the best projects proposed to us, with 50% funding up to $50,000.
SMART II - Program
The recent funding announcement includes a $15.75-million investment under the Southern Ontario Development Program for the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) SMART program to fund approximately 300 projects.
**Application Intake is Now Closed**
For those of you who submitted an application prior to 4:00PM on June 30, 2010, thank you for taking the time to complete the applications. We are currently working through all of the applications received and will be advising applicants on their status. We expect that all applications will be reviewed and notified by close of business August 16, 2010.
