Funding for Qualified Productivity Improvement Projects

If you have a productivity improvement project ready to start in 3-4 months, you may be eligible to apply to the SMART Program for financial assistance. Projects selected for funding will receive 50% of eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $50,000.

Eligible Projects

A wide variety of productivity improvement projects are eligible, including:

  • Lean manufacturing
  • Lean design
  • Quality improvement
  • Energy efficiency
  • IT best practices
  • Environmental Impact reduction

The primary focus of the project must be improving your operational efficiency. Learn more about the eligibility of projects, companies, and project costs.

Important Information about the Selection Process

There are limited funds available for SMART Funding, so only the best projects will be selected, and not all eligible projects can be selected. CME will use a fair and impartial process, using independent reviews by outside experts, to ensure that the best projects are selected for funding.
