Ineligible Costs

The following costs are not eligible for funding:

Costs and expenses paid for land or buildings;

costs of intangible assets such as goodwill, whether capitalized or expensed;

depreciation or amortization expenses;

interest on invested capital, bonds, debentures or mortgages;

losses on investments or bad debts;

fines or penalties and interest;

costs related to litigation;

payments to any director or officer of the Applicant;

fees and expenses of consultants who are not, in the opinion of FedDev Ontario,at arms length to the Applicant;

costs and expenses paid for by another funding source, other than the Applicant's own funds or funds borrowed from a commercial lender to the Applicant;

costs and expenses for entertainment or alcoholic beverages;

costs, expenses or charges paid or owing to any Person who is a parent,subsidiary, or, in the sole opinion of CME, is in any way related to the Applicant, unless such costs, expenses or charges are expressly authorized in writing;

costs associated with unapproved changes to the Project;

costs and expenses incurred in the preparation of the Application; or

costs, the reimbursement of which, in the opinion of CME, would be inconsistent with the purposes or intent of the Program.
